Takashimaya NY was a five floor Fifth Avenue flagship outpost of the Japanese retailer, selling luxury artisan home wares with a Asian aesthetic.
During our decade long relationship we oversaw all of their marketing output: national advertising, development of private label goods, packaging, promotional print materials, etc. We met annually to formulate marketing objectives for the year, then advised them on the best ways to maximize their budgets so that they could convey the specialty character of their brand within their limited means.
Takashimaya became a haven for decorators and tastemakers, and our branding - from the opening image brochure to the closing advertising - was key in creating the image of the store.
Every year Takashimaya produced a luxurious, limited edition catalog. These intimate and engaging pieces are coveted and have become collectible items.
